Your teeth, layer by layer

Every tooth wears a hard outer coat called enamel, the hardest substance in your body. Underneath sits dentine, a softer layer that's far more reactive to hot, cold and everything in between. Near the gum line, your gums cover the root instead of enamel.

When everything's where it should be, dentine stays covered up and so does sensitivity. When dentine gets exposed, that’s when the problems start.


So what uncovers it?

There are two usual routes.
Enamel wears down.
Acidic food and drink (citrus, fizzy drinks, wine, that virtuous apple cider vinegar shot), brushing too hard and grinding can all thin enamel over time.
Gums recede. 
As gums pull back, the root surface underneath is left exposed.

The usual suspects

Ice cream. Iced coffee. A cold wind on a Tuesday morning. Hot tea, sweet things, sour things, sometimes brushing itself can cause sensitivity to develop.

Our patented ingredient is a blend of calcium and phosphate, the same mineral your enamel is made of. It helps polish away the day with natural remineralisation that fluoride and saliva deliver every time you brush, to form a protective layer on your tooth surface.

It took 10 years of research at University College London to development and patent. It takes you two minutes to use.

Fluoride for the win

OZEN contains 1450 ppm fluoride, the dentist recommended strength for adult toothpaste. Fluoride works with the calcium and phosphate already in your saliva to form fluorapatite, a tougher mineral that helps strengthen enamel. With twice-daily brushing, it helps build a protective layer on your teeth.

Strong, intact enamel helps keep teeth in good condition, including the ones with strong opinions about ice cream.
