Finally, a sensitive toothpaste formula
that wasn't invented in the '90s
Hi, I’m Niall. I’m a maxillofacial surgeon, I lead research into improving bone grafting and have a PhD in dentistry from University College of London.
I spend most of my days in operating theatres and labs looking at how to rebuild people’s bones and teeth in the best way possible. But OZEN didn’t start in a lab or theatre.
To get to something totally new, you have to start somewhere totally different…
Art
meets
science.

Eureka.

I was helping my brother, an artist, research new materials for his work when we came across aerogels. They’re unusual types of material with unique properties, ultra-light and yet powerful. Great for creating sculptures, but this also gave me the idea to make my own aerogel that could be used to improve bone grafting.
The results were incredible. It could rapidly produce the same mineral that bones and teeth are made of, helping them heal and rebuild much more effectively and quickly.
And, all of that got me thinking about sensitive teeth.

Sometimes, it’s good to have been born yesterday.
While technology has changed so much of our lives, sensitivity treatments have used the same active ingredients since the 90s. They don’t work very well and are gone after a sip of water. They don’t write that on the packaging do they? I knew there must be a better way.
